How to Make a Tufted Queen Bed Frame

Tufted queen bed – Tufting is when buttons and hidden fabric make a design, and are usually seen in chairs, loveseats, sofas and headboards for bed frames. It is considered an elegant look that gives any room an excellent upgrade. If you want to add a tufted headboard to your bed frame, you can do one at home. The advantage is that you save money and have to choose exactly what fabric you want. Set plywood up straight against a wall. Keep the metal bed railroad up against it to see where the bolt holes adjust. Mark the places with a pencil on both the right and left sides of the plywood. Use a drill to punch pilot holes through plywood to prepare to install bed rail bolts later.

Pull the plate up and round to the plywood top, hold it tight, but not enough to tear it. Staple plate for plywood. Move to the opposite side of the first short and pull the plate up there, then staple it. Work your way around the headboard, pull up the plate and staple it, so it’s tight, protecting foam for plywood. Place the fabric face down on the floor so the finished page is down. Place covered plywood batting down in the middle. Pull up the fabric around to the plywood side. Throw the end below, so it looks nice. Make sure there is enough tension that the fabric pulls straight, without wrinkles or wrinkles. Staple it in place.

Then to make a tufted queen bed frame. Alternate pulling and stapling on opposite ends of the headboard to keep the fabric tight while working. Trim excess material from the back of the headboard as needed. Lay the headboard flat on the ground, with the fabric upwards. Place a piece of paper over the top and mark the tufting pattern on the headboard. Keep in mind that the lower part of the headboard will be behind the mattress, so work only with the space that exceeds 30 inches from the bottom. Remove the paper as the first place for a padding please. Set the headboard against the wall where it will last permanently.
