Most Durable Laminate Bathroom Vanities

Laminate bathroom vanities – Choosing the most durable vanity means more than just choosing a particular brand. A vanity design and materials affect how well it will hold up under daily use and moist conditions in a bathroom. But vanity sustainable materials have some drawbacks that may affect their appearance over time. Solid wood and laminated plywood covered with polyurethane is the most durable material for bathroom vanity cabinets, because they resist moisture. Particle board, medium density fiberboard and other processed wood tends to absorb moisture, causing warping. Laminated chipboard and fiberboard cabinets are usually unfinished on the back and bottom edges, and the areas that are most vulnerable to damage from moisture. Pull out drawers that you are shopping for a vanity and watch over them to find out what kind of guides they have. Boxes of metal glass mounted on each side are the most durable because they can carry more weight. Some double drawer guides have self-cleaning ball bearings that resist buildup of dirt and corrosion, keep them operating smoothly. Vanity boxes that only have center-mounted guides cannot provide enough support for the boxes to stand up to heavy use.

Laminate countertops are popular in the kitchen, because they are water resistant and durable. Laminate counters are a sustainable option for bathroom vanities, too, but dark-colored laminate bathroom vanities shows scratches more easily than lighter versions. Ceramic tile is another durable option for vanity counters, but the grout between the tiles can be difficult to keep clean and free of mold. Granite is a suitable option if you want to install a stone counter because it is less porous than other types of stone, which means it is less likely to absorb fluids that can permanently stain it. Tile and Granite can crack or chip from the cool, though.
